About the role The Medical Practitioner - Provides clinical care to Plastics inpatients and outpatients under consultant supervision as a pre-vocational surgery trainee, ensuring safe and effective patient management.
Key duties of the role
- Provide a professional clinical consultant service to the inpatients and outpatients of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital
- Promotes patient-centred care through effective communication, accurate documentation, and a positive workplace culture aligned with SA Health value
- Demonstrate the ability to safely & effectively provide plastic surgical services for general paediatric procedures in children without significant co-morbidities
- Participates in clinical research, audit activities and the development of research initiatives while ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and departmental standards
- Demonstrates commitment to quality improvement through continuing medical education, review of clinical practices, and contribution to the development of guidelines, protocols and quality initiatives
- Contribute to a team environment that promotes positivity, learning and development, safety and welfare of employees, acknowledges differences and encourages creativity, innovation and honesty
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
- Demonstrated clinical skills relevant to Plastics Operating Theatres,
outpatient clinics and ward activities
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex information
- Broad knowledge and understanding of surgical practice
