This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate and supportive team in a hands-on accounting role that offers both variety and flexibility.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the organisation's finance function, providing accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance and supporting sound financial decision-making. You will also work closely with the leadership team, Board and supervise an Accounts Assistant.
About the Role
This is a part-time position working four days per week, offering the opportunity to become an integral member of a friendly and cooperative team while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and Board papers.
- Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts and cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate the annual audit and prepare statutory financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Prepare and lodge IAS, BAS, ACNC and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage grant funding reconciliations and financial acquittals.
- Maintain and optimise the Xero accounting system.
- Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful reporting to management.
- Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes.
About You You will be an experienced Accountant who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or CA qualifications (or working towards) highly regarded.
- A minimum of five years' accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
- Experience with payroll, GST, BAS, IAS and superannuation.
- Advanced Xero and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with senior management and the Board.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach.
Experience within the not-for-profit sector, including ACNC reporting and grant funding, would be advantageous but is not essential. Why You'll Love This Role
