Role impact & contribution You will be joining our Policy and Budget Group and will be working within the Premier, Cabinet and Regional Development Team or Transport Team. The Premier, Cabinet and Regional Development Team provides advice on public sector reform and strategy across multiple portfolio areas, including agriculture, biosecurity, primary industries, mining, natural resource management, regional development, industry support, investment attraction, natural disaster response and recovery, Aboriginal Affairs, and government coordination. The Transport team provides advice on major capital projects impacting Roads, Metro and Rail networks as well as provides advice on broader public transport programs and policies. As an Advisor, you’ll play a key support role to assist in delivering high-quality outcomes that underpin strategic project and policy development, implementation, and evaluation. You will analyse, support and directly provide advice on policy, regulatory, financial and economic issues facing government agencies delivering these services.

This involves establishing sound relationships with Treasury and agency contacts for the collaborative and proactive monitoring of performance and the implementation of change. Read more about your future Group and Division. You can read more about the roles in the role description here.

What you can bring to the role In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

- Experience in economic policy advice and development, and demonstrated experience in succeeding in high pressure, dynamic and creative environments with an ability to produce accurate and evidence-based analysis and advice in compressed timeframes.
- Experience undertaking financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and the State’s financial system, Prime.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders,



and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of economic, fiscal, and public policy.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise communication skills, engagement, negotiate and influence in dealings with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to clearly convey technical and complex information in different ways (verbal, written and visual) appropriate to the audience and its purpose.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work collaboratively as part of a team and strong interpersonal skills.
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in commerce, finance, law, business management or in a related discipline, or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
