S&C; are recruiting an AI Engineer who combines strong software development fundamentals with hands-on experience using modern AI development tools.

The right person for this role will have formal or informal experience using AI to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and solve complex technical challenges.

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering team where AI is embedded into the development lifecycle, not simply used as a coding assistant.

You will be someone who has some development experience, specifically front end development or design.

About the Role

As an AI Engineer, you'll work on the development and enhancement of modern web applications. You'll utilise AI-powered tooling as part of your day-to-day workflow while maintaining ownership of technical quality, architecture decisions, and production-ready outcomes.

You'll be involved in

- Building and maintaining customer-facing web applications
- Developing new product features across frontend and backend systems
- Leveraging AI-powered development tools to improve efficiency and delivery speed
- Reviewing, validating, and refining AI-generated code
- Writing clear technical specifications and implementation plans
- Participating in code reviews and engineering best practices




- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across development workflows
- Delivering high-quality user experiences with a strong focus on usability and design consistency

About You We're looking for someone who has embraced modern software development and understands how to use AI as a force multiplier while maintaining strong engineering judgement.

Essential Skills & Experience

- 1-5 years of software engineering experience (commercial or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Strong capability in either PHP/Laravel, or React and TypeScript
- Experience working with Git and team-oriented development workflows
- Exposure to AI-powered coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to critically review and validate code produced by AI tools
