AI Program Manager A major enterprise scale modernisation programme is underway, transforming legacy Systems into a fully modern, AWS?native platform. The distinguishing feature is the engineering approach: a custom AI translation pipeline that converts legacy code, database schema and screens into contemporary application components, backed by a rigorous automated parity suite that proves functional equivalence before deployment.

This role operates at the intersection of engineering, AI assisted delivery, and technical leadership. It is hands?on, evidence?driven, and central to scaling the modernisation capability across one of Australia's largest workforces.

What the role delivers

- Technical leadership of the AI modernisation workstream, sequencing, priorities, unblockers, and alignment with architecture, cyber, privacy and business expectations.
- Ownership and extension of the AI translation pipeline: agent skills, prompts, context engineering, tool integration, structured output and evaluation harnesses.
- End?to?end full?stack delivery: Vue 3 / Vuetify / TypeScript / Pinia, Node.js / TypeScript on Lambda, API Gateway, Db2 SQL, Terraform.
- Guidance for engineers on design choices, code reviews, delivery trade?offs and production readiness.
- Line?by?line verification of AI?generated output - accountable for correctness, not the model.
- Operation and enhancement of automated validation gates: schema fidelity, data replication accuracy, multi?layer parity testing.
- Continuous improvement of pipeline speed, reliability and repeatability across applications.
- Cross?team coordination with engineering, architecture, platform, cyber,



legacy specialists and SMEs.
- Application of disciplined AI engineering to retrieval, search and agentic workflows.
- Clear, transferable documentation,runbooks, reproducible steps, and shared patterns.

Ideally you will have;

- Delivery leadership in decomposing ambiguous goals, maintaining backlog clarity, surfacing blockers early.
- Stakeholder translation for converting technical trade?offs into actionable options and risks.
- Experienced in Technical direction, engineering standards, review expectations, branching discipline, definition of done.
- 8-12+ years end?to?end software delivery with technical leadership.
- 5+ years shipping production software; 3+ years building with LLMs/agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Claude API or equivalent).
- Production experience with RAG, vector search, embeddings, agentic orchestration - and clarity on when not to use them.
- Front end: Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript, Vuetify, Pinia, Vite.
- Back end: Node.js, TypeScript, REST, serverless (Lambda, API Gateway).
- Data: strong SQL, relational modelling, parameterised queries, fixed?point precision.
- Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, EventBridge).
- Delivery: Terraform, Git?based CI/CD, automated testing.
- Security & privacy: least privilege, secrets management, privacy?by?design.
- Leadership: code review, design direction, planning, dependency management, risk escalation.
