ASPHALT PLANT MANAGER / SENIOR BATCHER

Experienced Asphalt Plant Manager or Senior Batcher – we want to hear from you. We are a well-established, privately owned asphalt manufacturing and paving business based in the Riverina, and we are looking for an experienced Asphalt Plant Manager / Senior Batcher to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of our Marini batch asphalt plant.

This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely knows asphalt production and is ready to take ownership of the plant – not simply operate it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with management, laboratory and paving operations, you will be responsible for ensuring our plant operates safely, efficiently and reliably while producing consistent, high-quality asphalt.

Your responsibilities will include

- Managing the day-to-day operation of our Marini batch plant
- Planning and coordinating asphalt production to meet paving and customer requirements
- Managing mix designs, recipes and production requirements
- Monitoring aggregate, bitumen and additive usage
- Managing stockpiles and raw material requirements
- Monitoring asphalt temperatures, production quality and consistency
- Working closely with our laboratory and quality control team
- Coordinating truck loading and dispatch
- Identifying and resolving plant and production issues
- Coordinating routine maintenance and arranging repairs when required
- Monitoring plant performance, production rates, wastage and efficiency
- Maintaining accurate production and plant records
- Ensuring all plant operations comply with safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Supervising and coordinating plant personnel
- Working with management and paving crews to ensure production requirements are met

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced asphalt professional who understands what it takes to manufacture quality asphalt and keep a busy plant operating efficiently.

You will ideally have

- Proven experience operating or managing an asphalt batch plant
- Strong knowledge of asphalt manufacturing processes
- Experience with a Marini batch plant would be highly regarded
- Experience with other major asphalt batch plant systems will also be considered
- A strong understanding of asphalt mix production and quality requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot plant issues
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Robust communication skills
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- The ability to work additional hours, including early starts and occasional night work, when production demands require it
