Clarity Partners is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a privately owned Australian logistics organisation with more than 50 years of industry success.
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day accounting function, assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts processing and month-end activities. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting activities across the finance function
- Prepare and maintain bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required
- Assist with month-end journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Help prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner
- Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding finance-related queries
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of finance operations
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures
About You
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end activities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Relevant accounting qualifications or progress towards CPA or CA will be highly regarded
