Part-Time Assistant Director / Educational Leader

Twinklekids Early Learning Centre – Longwarry, VIC Longwarry Twinklekids Early Learning Centre is looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate Part-Time Assistant Director to join our leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator, Room Leader, Educational Leader or emerging leader who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can also take on the role of Educational Leader, providing leadership and guidance to our educators while supporting the Centre Director with the day-to-day operation of the service.

About the Role

Working closely with the Centre Director and our wider management team, you will help ensure the centre operates smoothly and continues to provide high-quality education and care for our children and families.

Your responsibilities will include

- Supporting the Centre Director with the day-to-day operation of the service
- Providing leadership, guidance and support to educators
- Assisting with staff supervision, mentoring and performance
- Supporting compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and relevant regulations
- Promoting and maintaining a strong child-safe culture across the service
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of centre policies and procedures
- Building positive relationships with children, families, educators and the local community
- Assisting with rostering, staffing and general centre administration where required
- Supporting the centre's Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement practices
- Stepping into the Centre Director role when required

Educational Leader Responsibilities

For the right candidate, the position can also include the Educational Leader role. As Educational Leader, you will:

- Lead and support educators in delivering high-quality educational programs
- Mentor educators in curriculum planning, documentation and reflective practice
- Support implementation of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Promote meaningful critical reflection across the service




- Work collaboratively with educators to strengthen teaching practices and learning outcomes
- Support the centre's ongoing Quality Improvement Plan and Assessment & Rating preparation
- Encourage a culture of continuous professional learning and improvement

About You

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and confident in supporting a team.

You will ideally have

- Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent
- Previous experience in a leadership position within an early childhood service
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF and/or VEYLDF
- Strong understanding of Child Safe Standards and child protection responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in mentoring and supporting educators
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain them

Previous experience as an Assistant Director, Educational Leader, 2IC or Room Leader will be highly regarded.
