Burbank Bush Kindy is a unique early childhood setting immersed in nature. We believe children thrive when they are connected to the natural world, given space to explore, and supported by warm, responsive educators. Our small, nurturing service is set in a bushland environment and guided by the principles of nature pedagogy, forest school philosophy and play-based learning.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and nurturing Assistant Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will support our Lead Educators in delivering high-quality, child-led programs that honour curiosity, creativity, and connection to nature. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, energy, and a genuine love of working with children in a natural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in delivering our nature-based, play-rich daily program

Support children’s safety, wellbeing, and development across all domains

Communicate with families in a positive manner

Build respectful, responsive relationships with children and families

Foster a calm, joyful, and inclusive atmosphere

Support routines including meal times, toileting, transitions, and rest

Work collaboratively with a small,



supportive team

Essential Requirements

Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or actively working toward)

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain)

Hold National Child Safety Certificate

Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Availability to work a variety of shifts, including rotating closing shifts until 6:00 pm, is essential

Comfortable working outdoors in a natural setting every day

Desirable Qualities:

Experience in or passion for nature play, bush kindy, or outdoor education

Warm, calm, and responsive approach to behaviour guidance

Strong communication skills with both children and adults

Ability to follow children’s interests and work collaboratively
