This is a senior, client-facing role working across a genuinely compelling portfolio of SME and family business clients. Relationships are central to how this team operates, and we're looking for someone who enjoys being close to their clients and acting as their trusted adviser over the long term, not just at year end.

You'll join one of the firm's largest Business Services teams, with varied work, real autonomy, and the chance to lead and mentor a capable team within a supportive leadership group.

The Opportunity

Our client's Business Services team works alongside SMEs, family businesses and multi-generational clients, many of whom have been with the firm for years. These are clients who value continuity and a genuine understanding of their business, not just compliance delivery. The firm is looking for an Associate Director who takes real pride in building and sustaining those relationships.

You'll lead a varied portfolio of SME clients, acting as trusted adviser and key point of contact as their needs change over time. You'll work closely with Partners on strategic matters, deliver high-quality compliance and advisory work, and make sure clients feel genuinely supported and understood.

The focus here is relationship-led service delivery: knowing the client, their business and their history matters as much as technical strength.

You'll also carry a leadership role within the team: developing staff,



managing workflow and productivity, and contributing to strong financial outcomes. Through your client and internal relationships, you'll help identify advisory opportunities and support the team's continued growth.

What You'll Bring

You're an experienced Chartered Accountant who thrives working closely with SME clients and genuinely enjoys building rapport and long-standing professional relationships. You take the time to understand what matters to your clients and want to be their go-to adviser, not just deliver a technical outcome.

You bring solid leadership capability and enjoy developing people at all levels, while balancing client needs, budgets and productivity. You're comfortable leading client conversations, managing complex portfolios, and delivering both compliance and advisory work to a high standard.

You're commercially minded and organised, comfortable owning job budgets, productivity and fee management, and you understand how strong client relationships underpin sustainable performance.

You communicate clearly, collaborate naturally, and bring a relationship-first mindset and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
