We are seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Surgical & Midwifery Ward on a permanent full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife looking to take the next step in their leadership career, working alongside an experienced Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team in a supportive clinical environment.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the overall clinical management of the ward, provide high-quality patient care and support the development, supervision and education of nursing staff. You will play an important role in ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care is consistently delivered across the ward.

The Position In this role, you will:

- Provide clinical leadership and supervise nursing practice, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained.

- Assist with the overall clinical management and coordination of the ward.

- Initiate reviews and coordinate care for patients with complex health needs.

- Act as a patient advocate, protecting the rights, dignity and safety of patients at all times.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives.

- Take responsibility for nominated clinical portfolios as delegated by the Nurse Unit Manager and provide regular updates.





- Support the education and professional development of nursing staff through formal and informal teaching.

- Monitor diagnostic procedures and investigations, escalating abnormalities appropriately.

- Evaluate and document the outcomes of nursing and medical interventions and promptly escalate significant concerns.

- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.

About you

You will be a registered Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration, with demonstrated clinical experience and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

You will bring:

- Well-developed clinical assessment, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of legislation, professional standards and requirements relevant to nursing and midwifery practice.

- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary teams.

- Strong delegation, planning and organisational skills.

- The ability to motivate, support and develop colleagues.

- A commitment to ongoing professional education and self-directed learning.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- A collaborative and patient-focused approach to clinical leadership.

- Previous leadership or ANUM experience will be highly regarded.

We can offer you





- Salary: $120,835 – $124,903 (from July 2026) plus 12% superannuation.

- Permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week.
