As our automation practice continues to grow, we are building a pipeline of experienced Automation Architects to support upcoming client engagements across our Sydney and Melbourne practices.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Automation Architect to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for automation initiatives across our client engagements. This is not just hands-on scripting or execution role — you will be shaping automation strategy, designing scalable frameworks, and guiding delivery teams on best-practice implementation across a variety of client environments and technology landscapes.

As a consultancy, our Automation Architects work across multiple engagements over time rather than being fixed to a single client, technology stack or industry. We're looking for someone who thrives on that variety — comfortable assessing a recent environment, adapting an approach to fit the context, and bringing consistent architectural rigour wherever they land.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and define automation frameworks, architecture and standards tailored to each client engagement




- Develop automation strategy and roadmaps aligned to client delivery goals and technology landscapes
- Evaluate, select and recommend automation tools and platforms suited to each engagement's needs
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to automation engineers and test teams during implementation
- Establish governance, standards and best practices for automation framework design and reuse
- Partner with delivery leads, architects and client stakeholders to embed automation within broader test and delivery strategy
- Guide integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practices
- Assess existing automation maturity and define uplift plans where required
- Support pre-sales, proposals and solutioning activities by contributing automation architecture expertise

Skills & Experience Required

- 10+ years' experience in software testing, with significant experience in automation architecture or technical leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automation frameworks and strategy, not just executing scripts
- Mandatory hands-on experience with UiPath
- Experience with Tricentis Tosca is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of automation architecture principles, including framework design, reusability and scalability




- Experience evaluating and selecting automation tools to fit varied client contexts
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor automation engineers and test teams
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and consulting skills, with the ability to operate confidently across different client environments
- Demonstrated adaptability — comfortable moving across different industries, technology stacks and delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid or traditional)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into modern delivery practices

Nice to Have

- Exposure to a broad range of automation and testing tools beyond a single platform
- Experience working within large-scale transformation programs
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. ISTQB, automation or architecture-focused certifications)
- Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience
