Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Automation Engineer / Engineering Manager to lead engineering initiatives while designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems that improve operational efficiency, productivity, and reliability.

This role is responsible for managing engineering projects, overseeing automation solutions, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement through modern engineering practices and digital technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership, project management, and strategic problem-solving capabilities.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of industrial and business automation systems.
- Manage engineering projects from concept, planning, and design through implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support.
- Develop automation strategies that improve operational efficiency, product quality, reliability, and cost performance.
- Design and maintain PLC, SCADA, HMI, robotics, instrumentation, and industrial control systems where applicable.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, operations, quality assurance, and IT teams to deliver integrated automation solutions.
- Manage engineering resources, project schedules, budgets, vendor relationships, and technical deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, automation performance, equipment reliability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct technical reviews, root cause analyses, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to support engineering decisions.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for automated equipment and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards,



workplace health and safety regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and quality management systems.
- Prepare engineering documentation, technical specifications, operating procedures, project reports, and executive presentations.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives by integrating Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT, AI-assisted automation, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend cutting-edge engineering solutions that improve productivity, sustainability, and operational resilience.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams while promoting technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, safety, quality, and engineering excellence that supports long-term organizational success.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of automation engineering, industrial control systems, engineering management, and project delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, HMI development, industrial networking, robotics, motion control, and instrumentation.




- Familiarity with automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, ABB, Omron, or similar technologies.
- Experience with engineering design software and simulation tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent applications.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols including Modbus, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and MQTT.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0, Industrial IoT (IIoT), cloud-connected automation, edge computing, and AI-powered engineering solutions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and project management tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple engineering initiatives simultaneously.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to engineering quality, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently while leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn emerging automation technologies, AI-assisted engineering tools, and evolving industry standards.
