Position: Backend Developer (Spring Boot and Microservices)

Location: Sydney

Contract: 12+ Months and Extendable

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Develop RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.

Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, frontend developers, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.

Design scalable and resilient solutions for high-volume banking applications.

Integrate with internal and external systems using REST APIs, messaging platforms, and event-driven architectures.

Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning,



stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

Mandatory Skills

5+ years of experience in Java backend development.

Solid expertise in Java 11/17.

Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.

Strong experience in Microservices Architecture.

Experience developing RESTful APIs.

Knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.

Experience with Hibernate/JPA.

Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.

Experience with Git and version control.

Familiarity with Maven or Gradle.

Experience with unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.

Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
