Queensland Domestic and Family Violence Alliance (QDFVA) is the new independent statewide peak body representing specialist domestic and family violence and women’s health services. Working alongside members, government and key stakeholders, QDFVA advocates for system reform, strengthens sector capability and champions evidence-informed responses that improve outcomes for victim-survivors across Queensland.

Guided by the Board Composition Matrix, the Board is looking to appoint three new Non-Executive Directors who will complement the existing skills of the Board and CEO while strengthening QDFVA's strategic capability. This is an opportunity to influence statewide reform, contribute to stronger outcomes for victim-survivors and support the long-term sustainability of Queensland's peak body for specialist domestic and family violence services. Directors will work alongside an experienced Board and leadership team committed to collaboration, integrity and meaningful systems change.

The Opportunities

Research, Data and Evidence A recognised leader from academia, research or industry with expertise in research, evaluation, data analytics or evidence translation. You will help ensure QDFVA's advocacy, policy positions and strategic decisions are informed by contemporary evidence and emerging research.

Profile Building, Reputation and Strategic Networks A highly respected senior leader with the influence,

networks and credibility to elevate QDFVA's profile across government, business and the broader community.

Experience building organisational reputation, opening strategic partnerships and developing alternate revenue streams including philanthropy will be highly regarded. This role complements existing management capability and is focused on strategic influence, reputation and relationship-building.

First Nations Influence

This identified position recognises the importance of First Nations leadership and self-determination in shaping policy, governance and sector reform.

About You

We are seeking experienced leaders who can contribute at Board level through strategic thinking, sound governance and team-oriented decision-making. You will bring executive, governance or sector leadership experience and a commitment to QDFVA's purpose. Experience in not-for-profit governance is desirable but not essential.

Previous Board experience, director education and a mature understanding of governance, risk and fiduciary responsibilities will be highly regarded.
