We are seeking a reliable and organised Junior Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to support the day-to-day finance and administrative functions of a construction business.
This role would suit someone with practical bookkeeping experience who is confident using MYOB and is looking to develop their skills across accounts, payroll and general office administration.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and internal team and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with weekly payroll and supporting the smooth operation of the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Enter and manage supplier invoices
- Prepare customer invoices and follow up outstanding accounts
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with weekly payroll processing using MYOB
- Maintain employee payroll records and timesheet information
- Assist with payroll-related reporting and compliance
- Respond to supplier and customer account queries
- Maintain accurate filing and financial records
- Assist with general office administration
- Provide personal assistant and administrative support to the Director
- Assist with correspondence, document preparation, diary coordination and follow-up tasks
- Perform other reasonable finance and administrative duties as required
Skills and Experience
- Previous bookkeeping, accounts administration or payroll experience
- Experience using MYOB
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Understanding of bank reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Qualified written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Desirable Experience
- Experience processing payroll in MYOB
- Experience within the construction industry
- Knowledge of construction industry Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs)
- Understanding of employee allowances, overtime, RDOs, superannuation and leave entitlements
About You You will be dependable, approachable and willing to learn. You will take pride in producing accurate work, following tasks through to completion and supporting both the finance function and the Director.
You do not need to be a senior accountant or finance manager; however, you must be comfortable working with numbers, maintaining confidential information and taking responsibility for your work.
Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
