Who we are
We are a well-known & respected commercial print business located on the northside of Brisbane. We have been operating for over 35yrs on the current site and under the current ownership & management for the past 25 yrs.
We operate two large offset presses as well as wide format signage printers and short run digital presses with all the usual finishing and distribution attributes on site. We have a small but experienced sales & production team consisting of 25 staff. We print for private enterprises, advertising & government agencies along with sole traders.
After 20yrs of valuable service, our long-standing Accounts, Bookkeeper & Payroll Officer is heading for a well-earned retirement hence we are looking for the right person to take on this very important soon to be vacant role.
The Role
This is a position suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of the accounts function and being an integral part of the business.
Reporting directly to the Director, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations while ensuring all bookkeeping, payroll and compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time.
A thorough handover from the person currently in this role will be provided.
Your responsibilities will include
Bookkeeping & Accounts
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using our printing industry specific software Quote & Print. (Training provided)
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
· Process supplier invoices, payments and supplier statement reconciliations.
· Prepare and issue customer invoices.
· Reconcile bank accounts and credit card.
· Monitor aged receivables and assist with debtor collections.
· Maintain supplier, customer and employee records.
· Prepare and lodge BAS.
· Prepare end-of-financial-year reporting
· Prepare Workcover claims.
· Ensure all accounting records are accurate and maintained in a timely manner.
Payroll & Compliance
· Process weekly payroll accurately and on time using Xero
· Manage STP reporting, superannuation and PAYG obligations.
· Maintain employee payroll records.
· Assist with employee administration & documentation where required.
· Ensure payroll remains compliant with current legislation.
You
We're looking for someone who values honesty and is highly organised and able to work independently. Someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and is able to trouble shoot when necessary.
To be successful you'll have:
· Minimum 3 years' experience in bookkeeping, Payroll & Accounting
· Ability to learn new systems & processes quickly
· Experience with Xero for payroll and system settings.
· Proven experience processing payroll, PAYG and superannuation.
· Strong reconciliation skills across bank accounts, credit cards and general ledger accounts.
· Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
· High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to work closely with the business owner and senior management.
