Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Technology team on a 12‑month fixed-term contract . As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional support to the business.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst – Data Management to join a high-performing team responsible for delivering enterprise data and analytics initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced Data Business Analyst or a Data Analyst ready to step into a Business Analyst position , with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, data modelling, and analytics.

About the Role

As the Business Analyst – Data Management, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into scalable and effective data solutions.

Working closely with data engineers, architects, developers, and business users, you'll play a key role in defining data requirements, improving data quality, and delivering trusted insights that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities





- Translate business requirements into detailed data requirements and platform capabilities.
- Analyse and document business processes, data flows, and data dependencies.
- Develop and maintain source-to-target data mappings.
- Define transformation logic, business rules, derivations, reconciliation requirements, and data quality controls.
- Support the design and validation of analytical data models, including fact tables, dimension tables, hierarchies, and business metrics.
- Collaborate with technical teams to clarify data definitions and resolve data-related issues.
- Identify data risks, inconsistencies, and quality gaps, supporting remediation activities.
- Ensure data solutions align with data governance, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements.

About You You may be an experienced Data Business Analyst, or a Data Analyst looking to take the next step in your career into a Business Analyst role. Either way, you'll bring strong data management and analytics experience along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Experience as a Business Analyst (Data)



or Data Analyst within a data-focused environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric .
- Solid understanding of data modelling concepts, including Entities and relationships, Primary and foreign keys, Normalisation and Dimensional modelling.
- Experience working with fact tables, dimension tables, hierarchies, and business metrics.
- Experience producing source-to-target mappings and documenting transformation logic.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, stewardship, and data quality frameworks.
- Understanding of privacy, security, and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) requirements.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.

- Experience working with enterprise data platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-based data and analytics environments.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Knowledge of modern data engineering practices and reporting platforms.
