As the official Convention Bureau for Brisbane, BEDA promotes Brisbane as a world leading business events destination and is responsible for securing and supporting national and international conferences, corporate meetings and incentive programs to create successful and enduring outcomes for event organisers, local businesses and industry.

Role Description The Business Development Manager - Business Events, is a full-time role based in Brisbane. The role is responsible for identifying and developing highly qualified business eventS leads in key industry sectors, aligned with BEDA's business events strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Development, the role combines strong stakeholder engagement,



with driving lead generation and pipeline growth across the national and international association conference markets to support conversion outcomes for Brisbane.

Qualifications

- Experience in business events and existing knowledge of sectors within the MICE industry.
- Demonstrated skills in business development, sales, and account management.
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, working with associations, academia, government agencies, and industry partners.
- Experience identifying, developing and progressing leads and strategic business opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite) to manage contacts, pipelines and reporting.
