Skillset is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our client's successful and growing organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional with a strong background in industrial sales who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities and delivering exceptional customer outcomes. Covering a large geographic territory, this role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to represent industry-leading products and solutions while working as part of a high-performing national team.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing key customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities across your region. This role will involve regular travel and requires someone who is highly organised, technology-savvy and committed to achieving outstanding results.

About You

You are a driven and commercially focused sales professional with a proven track record of success within the storage, construction or transport sector.

You enjoy developing long-term customer relationships, understand complex sales cycles and can effectively manage a large territory while maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Proven experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, engineering, transport or related B2B sales environments
- Demonstrated success in business development and account management
- Ability to manage a large geographic territory and prioritise workload effectively
- Strong time management, organisational and planning skills
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales reporting tools




- High level of computer literacy and confidence using technology and business systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions
- A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving capability
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel regularly

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers across your territory
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to maximise growth opportunities
- Conduct customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations
- Manage the entire sales process from lead generation through to negotiation and closing
- Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline activity and forecasts within the CRM system
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
- Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities




- Provide regular sales reporting, market feedback and customer insights
- Deliver professional and responsive customer service at all times
