About the Company
We’re partnering with a high-growth technology company looking for a Business Development Representative to support its continued expansion across Australia and New Zealand. The company provides technology used across major construction, civil and infrastructure projects. With an established market presence and strong relationships across the sector, this is an opportunity to build a high-quality pipeline and work closely with some of Australia’s leading builders and project teams.
About the Role
You’ll focus on identifying active projects, researching target accounts and engaging the people responsible for site operations, logistics, safety and compliance. This is a hands-on outbound role for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, having credible industry conversations and building relationships with senior stakeholders. You’ll work closely with experienced sales leadership and Account Executives, with the prospect to progress into running your own deals over time.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, civil contractors, developers and major construction projects across ANZ
- Find and engage the right decision-makers, including project managers, construction managers, site managers and logistics leaders
- Generate qualified pipeline through cold calling, LinkedIn, email and targeted account research
- Book high-quality meetings and clearly communicate relevant project challenges and opportunities
- Build relationships with project teams and senior stakeholders across the construction sector
- Partner with Account Executives to progress opportunities through the sales process
- Maintain accurate activity, account and pipeline information within the CRM
- Stay informed about developments across construction technology, site logistics, safety and compliance
Qualifications Ideally,
you’ll have experience working for a software or technology company selling into general contractors, builders, civil contractors or major construction projects. You’ll understand how construction sites operate, including areas such as deliveries, site access, inductions, subcontractors, logistics, safety and compliance.
Required Skills
- Experience within any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Construction technology
- Access control or visitor management
- Contractor or workforce management
- Safety and compliance software
- Security systems, gates or licence plate recognition
- Delivery or logistics management
- Site automation
- Project management software
- You should also be:
- Confident making outbound calls and having genuine commercial conversations
- Experienced in prospecting, account research and booking qualified meetings
- Comfortable navigating complex organisations to identify the right stakeholders
- Organised, commercially minded and disciplined with follow-up
- Familiar with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach or similar platforms
- Coachable, driven and motivated by targets
- Ambitious to progress beyond a traditional BDR position and eventually manage the full sales cycle
Preferred Skills We would also consider someone who has worked operationally within construction and has since moved into a sales, business development or commercial role.
