Role Description The Business Manager at Melbourne City GWM is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. This role is responsible for managing the vehicle finance and insurance process, including consulting with customers, assessing their needs, and presenting tailored finance and protection options that comply with relevant regulations and dealership policies.
The Business
Manager will collaborate closely with sales and service teams to ensure seamless handover, accurate documentation, and strong customer satisfaction throughout the purchase journey. Daily activities include preparing and submitting finance applications, monitoring approvals, maintaining up-to-date product knowledge, and reviewing financial performance and KPIs. The role also involves refining processes, supporting staff training on finance offerings,
and contributing to the overall profitability and ethical standards of the dealership.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong financial and administrative skills, including experience with automotive finance, insurance products, loan documentation, and compliance with regulatory and dealership standards.
- Candidates should possess customer-focused sales and relationship management skills, with the ability to conduct needs analysis, explain complex products clearly, handle objections, and provide a high-quality customer experience.
- Candidates should possess business and operational skills, such as KPI monitoring, basic budgeting, reporting, and process improvement to support dealership performance and profitability.
- Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, negotiation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales, service, and management teams.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple customer files simultaneously.
- Relevant experience in automotive dealerships, banking, finance, or insurance environments is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with Australian consumer credit regulations.
- A qualification in business, finance, commerce, or a related discipline is advantageous; ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake dealership-provided training are expected.
