Business Services Manager

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 super | OTE $200,000 package

Location: Birtinya, Sunshine Coast

Work style: Hybrid | 3 days in Birtinya, 2 optional WFH days, with occasional Brisbane travel

Our client is a fast-growing specialist accounting and advisory firm focused on the building and construction sector.

They work with builders, developers, trades, architects, designers, manufacturers and related businesses across Australia. Their services include tax, business services, bookkeeping, specialist QBCC compliance, CFO advisory, AI and automation.

The firm has strong market positioning, a clear niche and a steady flow of qualified client work. This creates a better platform for progression than a traditional generalist firm, where the next step is always dependent on someone else moving on.

The Role

As Business Services Manager, you will supervise a skilled team, deliver high-quality client-facing work and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

Your responsibilities will include

- Managing business services and tax work for building and construction clients
- Reviewing financial statements, tax returns, BAS and compliance work
- Supporting client relationships and providing practical business advice




- Supervising and developing accountants within the team
- Managing workflow, deadlines and job quality
- Working with senior leaders on client matters and firm growth
- Contributing to a positive, accountable and commercially focused team culture

This role is not designed for someone who wants to sit in the background. It will suit a confident, capable accountant who enjoys client contact, team leadership and being part of a firm with clear direction.

What You'll Bring

- Strong Australian public practice experience in business services and tax
- Current Manager experience, or Senior Accountant experience with readiness to step up
- Robust technical capability across accounting, tax and compliance work
- Confidence working directly with clients
- Ability to review work and support junior or intermediate accountants
- Commercial judgement and a proactive communication style
- Strong organisation skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Experience with Xero and contemporary practice systems will be highly regarded

Experience with building, construction or trade-based clients will be useful, but is not essential.
