The Thunderbird Mineral Sands

Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role

Residing in the West Kimberley, this is an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Administrator (Site) to join our growing mining company. This role provides dedicated administrative support to the People and HST team and broader operational functions at the Thunderbird site. This role supports site access coordination, reporting, document control and day-to-day administration. As a key enabler of operational effectiveness, the role ensures site-based systems run smoothly, visitors are supported and documentation is accurate and up to date.

Site based roster:8 days on, 6 days off - Bus in Bus Out

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the Site Access System super-user, managing site access permissions and coordinating travel and accommodation for employees, contractors, and visitors.




- Coordinate onboarding and mobilisation activities for new starters and visitors, ensuring all pre-arrival requirements are completed.
- Provide administrative support to the People & HST team, including training compliance, meeting coordination, and maintaining personnel records.
- Support site operations through document preparation, purchase orders, room bookings, and day-to-day administrative requests.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports using Microsoft Office and other business systems.
- Maintain document control systems, ensuring accurate version control, filing, and accessibility across Microsoft Teams and other platforms.
- Support internal audits by maintaining accurate, current, and compliant documentation.
- Coordinate office operations, ensuring supplies, PPE, stationery, and uniforms are maintained and the office workplace remains organised and professional.

About You

- ​​Cert III or IV in Business Administration (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quick-paced administrative support role, ideally site-based
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise,



and prioritise effectively in a dynamic operational workplace
- Current WA C-Class driver’s license
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, self-directed work style with a strong sense of ownership and reliability
- Previous experience using Fly2Work or a similar workforce mobilisation system is highly desirable
