We are currently seeking a Buyer to be responsible for sourcing, building and maintaining vendor relationships. This role is critical in negotiating supply that meets Brady’s standards of quality, price, timing and reliability of supply, with a primary focus on overseas vendors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Effective negotiation and development with favourable long-term supplier agreements with year on year improvement reviews
Carry out ‘benchmarking’ activities to ensure our supply base remains competitive
Identify, evaluate and recommend suitable alternative sources of supply
Identify and deliver cost reduction programs
Strong negotiation skill with supply base, with the ability to close deal with optimal terms
End to end contractor management whilst ensuring tracking performance
Ensure awareness of ‘make vs buy’ initiatives This role would suit someone who is looking to take on feedback, learn and grow in their career as a Buyer, with the guidance and support from an experienced and supportive team. What we need
Demonstrated experience as a Buyer/Procurement officer
Demonstrated experience with negotiating prices and INCOTERMS
Excellent communication skills with the strong ability to build effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in excel and Google mail/sheets
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with effective time management and strong problem solving capabilities
Attention to detail, quality focused, robust work ethic and a positive can do attitude
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Curiosity to ask questions and a willingness to learn key drivers across the business
Fluent in both English and Mandarin The following would be viewed favourably, but not essential:
SAP skills
Experience working with ISO9001 certified organisation preferred
