Position Description – Cabinetmaker

The Cabinetmaker is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, finishing, and installing custom cabinetry, furniture, and joinery products for residential and commercial projects. The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, operate woodworking machinery, and ensure all products are completed to precise specifications and high-quality standards.
Daily tasks include
- Interpreting project plans, technical drawings, and specifications to determine design requirements, dimensions, materials, and production methods.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and machining timber, veneers, laminates,
and other materials used in cabinet and furniture production.
- Constructing and assembling cabinets, wall units, counters, display units, wardrobes, and other custom joinery products.
- Installing hardware, fittings, hinges, slides, handles, and other components to ensure functionality and quality presentation.
- Applying and checking finishes, trims, and edging materials to achieve a professional appearance and meet project specifications.
- Installing completed cabinetry and joinery items on site, ensuring accurate fit, alignment, and secure fixing.
- Maintaining workshop equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Requirements: 1. Relevant qualification: Certificate III or Certificate IV. Three years of relevant experience may substitute the formal qualification.
2. Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Cabinetmaker or in a closely related role.
3. Other requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
- Experience operating woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a production and installation team.
Annual salary: $79,499 - $85,499 + superannuation (38 hours per week) Pay: $79,499.00 – $85,499.00 per year
