DFV Case Manager

Part-time | 21 hours per week

12-month fixed term contract

Salary: SCHADS Level 4.1 + superannuation + salary packaging + extra paid days off over the end of year period + leave entitlements

Moving Forward is seeking an experienced DFV Case Manager to provide specialist case management, advocacy and practical support to women experiencing or recovering from domestic and family violence. Moving Forward is a specialist Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) organisation supporting women and children experiencing intimate partner and family violence and abuse.

We provide practical and therapeutic support through trauma-informed, strengths-based and client-centred case management, counselling, therapeutic and educational workshops, and support groups within the communities we serve.

We are a small, passionate, women-led organisation committed to supporting women and children to understand the impacts and cycles of DFV and unsafe relationships, rebuild their confidence and move forward through empowerment, education and practical support.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking an experienced practitioner who is confident in managing their own caseload and can work independently in a small specialist team. The successful applicant will bring strong DFV practice skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with women experiencing complex circumstances.

ABOUT THE ROLE The Domestic and Family Violence Case Manager provides specialist case management support to women experiencing or recovering from domestic and family violence.

The role is responsible for managing an allocated caseload, undertaking intake and assessment processes, completing risk assessments and safety planning,



and working alongside women to develop individualised support plans that reflect their needs, goals and choices.

You will provide advocacy, practical support, information and referrals to assist women and children to access appropriate services, including housing and homelessness, health, mental health, alcohol and other drug services, legal assistance, financial support, counselling and emergency relief.

The Case Manager will work collaboratively with internal and external services, including child protection and other relevant agencies, to support child safety and coordinated responses to domestic and family violence.

The role will also contribute to Moving Forward’s broader programs and community initiatives, including support groups, workshops, education programs and events that promote safety, recovery and wellbeing.

This role requires an experienced practitioner who can work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute positively within a small specialist team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

- Manage an allocated caseload of women experiencing domestic and family violence, providing specialist, responsive and client-centred case management.
- Undertake client intake, assessment, risk assessment and safety planning using the DVSAT and organisational frameworks.
- Develop, review and monitor individualised case plans that support women’s safety, wellbeing and personal goals.
- Provide advocacy, information, referrals and practical support to assist women and children to access appropriate services, including housing, health, mental health, AOD, legal, financial and community supports.
- Coordinate support with relevant internal and external services, including child protection and other key agencies where required.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, case notes and reporting requirements in accordance with organisational policies, SHS requirements and relevant practice standards.
- Participate in supervision, case discussions, team meetings and reflective practice to support quality service delivery.
- Contribute to the delivery of support groups, workshops, education programs and community initiatives.
- Support student placements and contribute to the development of emerging practitioners where appropriate.
- Other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIS

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology,



Community Services or a related human services discipline. Applicants must demonstrate skilled experience beyond tertiary placement requirements.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience providing case management support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and/or complex support needs.
- Demonstrated experience managing an allocated caseload, undertaking assessments, developing support plans, completing safety planning and coordinating services.
- Sound understanding of domestic and family violence, including trauma informed practice, risk assessment, safety planning and the impacts of violence on women and children.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain professional documentation standards, including documentation and case notes and report writing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to strengths based, client centred practice and supporting women’s safety, empowerment and recovery.

Desirable

- Additional training in domestic and family violence practice.
- Experience facilitating groups, workshops or community education programs.
- Ability to speak another language.
