About the role

Northpoint Medical Centre is seeking a Casual Medical Receptionist to join our reception team, providing planned and ad hoc leave cover across Northpoint Medical Centre and Eastside Health on Mary.

This is a genuine casual position, with shifts primarily available to cover annual leave, personal leave and periods of increased demand. While hours will vary from week to week, there are regular opportunities throughout the year, making this an ideal role for someone seeking flexibility.

Working across both practices means no two days are the same. You'll become part of two welcoming teams, gain experience with a variety of doctors and patients, and enjoy a diverse and rewarding role within general practice.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients in a warm and professional manner upon arrival at the practice
- Managing appointment scheduling and maintaining accurate patient records using practice management software
- Processing patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting payment information and processing transactions
- Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Assisting with patient registration and updating patient information as required
- Handling administrative tasks, including filing, data entry and document management
- Supporting clinical staff by preparing patient files and ensuring examination rooms are ready for consultations
- Managing patient enquiries regarding test results, prescriptions and appointment changes
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with privacy legislation and practice protocols
- Contributing to a clean, organised and welcoming reception area

What we're looking for The ideal applicant will:





- Be flexible and available to work across both Northpoint Medical Centre and Eastside Health on Mary.
- Be able to step into different reception teams and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Be calm, organised and able to multitask in a busy general practice environment.
- Have strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in general practice or with Best Practice software is highly regarded, but not essential.
- Be reliable, dependable and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.
