Proserpine Nursing Home is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead our food services team and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our residents. This is an exciting chance to combine your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to person-centred care in a respected aged care environment.

About the Role

As our Catering Manager, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership of the catering function, ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals that support their health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

You'll lead a dedicated catering team while working closely with clinical and operational staff to create dining experiences that are personalised, culturally appropriate, and aligned with residents' preferences.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operation of the catering department
- Ensure delivery of high-quality meals that meet individual dietary and therapeutic requirements
- Manage menu implementation in consultation with dietitians and care teams
- Monitor resident satisfaction and continuously improve dining services
- Oversee food safety, infection prevention, and HACCP compliance




- Manage catering budgets, food costs, and labour expenditure
- Prepare for and support accreditation and quality audits
- Coach, mentor, and develop catering staff
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

- Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent
- Food Safety Supervisor and/or Food Handling certification
- Demonstrated leadership experience within catering, in an aged care setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

- Experience preparing for accreditation or audit processes
