Role Description The Certifier – Level 3 is a full-time, on-site role based in Birkdale, QLD. This role is responsible for assessing building applications for compliance with relevant codes and standards, preparing and issuing certificates, and maintaining accurate documentation and records.

The Certifier conducts inspections at various stages of construction, provides clear guidance to clients and stakeholders on regulatory requirements, and collaborates with other professionals to resolve compliance issues. Daily tasks include reviewing plans and reports, liaising with builders, designers, and property owners, and ensuring that all certification activities meet legislative and company standards.



The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement of internal processes and supporting a positive, safety-focused workplace culture.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of building regulations, codes, and standards relevant to certification work, including practical experience applying these in residential and/or commercial projects.
- Strong skills in technical review, assessment, and documentation, with the ability to interpret plans, reports, and regulatory requirements accurately.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to provide clear advice to builders, designers, property owners, and regulatory authorities.
- Well-developed organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain thorough records.
- Proficiency with standard office software and industry-specific systems used for certification, reporting, and record-keeping.
- Relevant qualification in building surveying, construction, engineering, or a related discipline; eligibility or registration as a Level 3 Certifier in QLD (or ability to obtain) is highly desirable.
- Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and safety, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a building certification, surveying, or regulatory setting is an advantage.
