Café Chef – Part time / Full-Time

TRU Coffee is looking for an experienced and reliable café chef to join our kitchen team. Part-time to full-time hours are available, depending on the successful applicant’s availability.

This is a daytime position in a busy neighbourhood café, with a strong focus on quality food, consistency and efficient service.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
- Managing your section during busy services
- Completing daily food preparation
- Maintaining consistent portion sizes and presentation
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
- Following food-safety, labelling and temperature-control procedures
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams

What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a chef or experienced cook in a busy café
- Strong breakfast and brunch experience
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Reliable, punctual and well organised




- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
- Availability across weekdays and weekends
- Relevant cookery qualifications are preferred
