Chemical Batching & Manufacturing Operator

Full-Time | Day Shift | Laverton North, VIC Experienced Chemical Batch Maker Required

Mera Chemicals is seeking an experienced Chemical Batching & Manufacturing Operator to join our production team at our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Laverton North.

This is a hands-on chemical manufacturing and batching position. It is not a general warehouse or process-worker role.

To be considered, you must have previous hands-on experience manufacturing chemical products, including weighing and measuring raw materials, following batch sheets or formulations, mixing ingredients and producing batches to specification.

We are looking for someone who understands the batching process and can confidently follow a batch sheet — similar to following a exact recipe — while maintaining accuracy, consistency, quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture chemical products according to approved batch sheets, formulations and production instructions
- Accurately weigh, measure and add raw materials in the correct quantities and sequence
- Mix and manufacture batches using industrial mixing and production equipment
- Follow formulations precisely to ensure consistency and product quality
- Monitor batches throughout the manufacturing process
- Conduct and record required in-process quality checks
- Identify and report batch variations or production issues
- Accurately complete batch records, material usage and production documentation
- Transfer finished products into IBCs, drums and other designated containers
- Correctly label and identify finished products
- Set up, clean and maintain mixing vessels and production equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised manufacturing environment
- Work closely with Production and Quality teams to achieve daily manufacturing schedules
- Follow all WHS, quality and environmental procedures

Essential Experience

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- Minimum 2–3 years’ hands-on chemical batching/manufacturing experience




- Previous experience making chemical batches from batch sheets or formulations
- Demonstrated experience weighing, measuring and mixing raw materials
- Experience operating industrial mixing or chemical manufacturing equipment
- Ability to accurately follow written batch instructions, quantities and production procedures
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety and chemical handling
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to complete production and batch documentation correctly
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a production team
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Current LF Forklift Licence

Applicants without previous hands-on chemical batching/manufacturing experience will not be considered for this position.

Highly Regarded

- Experience manufacturing specialty or industrial chemicals
- Experience working with IBCs, drums and bulk raw materials
- Dangerous Goods handling experience
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO or similar quality systems
- Experience using ERP or manufacturing systems
