Chicken Hangers – Poultry Processing Facility APG Workforce is currently seeking experienced Chicken Hangers to join a busy poultry processing facility based in Thomastown.
This is a physically demanding role suited to candidates with previous experience in live bird handling, poultry processing, meat processing, or food manufacturing. You will be working in a rapid-paced production environment where safety, animal welfare, and quality are key priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Hang live chickens onto the processing line safely and efficiently.
- Maintain production line speed while following all safety procedures.
- Handle live poultry in accordance with strict animal welfare standards.
- Work in chilled, noisy conditions with exposure to feathers, dust, and odours.
- Complete cleaning and sanitation duties as required.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Previous experience as a Chicken Hanger or within a poultry processing environment (essential).
- Experience working in meat processing or food manufacturing (highly regarded).
- A current resume with recent, contactable work references.
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to perform repetitive manual handling.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a rapid-paced production environment.
- Reliable transport and excellent attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Comfortable handling live poultry and working in cold environments.
