Nulsen Disability Services
Cannington
About Nulsen For over 70 years, Nulsen has been one of Western Australia's leading Supported Independent Living providers, helping people with disability live with independence and choice. As the inaugural member organisation of PeopleKind Group, Nulsen combines a proud local legacy with the strength, scale and shared expertise of a purpose-led group of organisations.
Our vision is easy: to create a community where everyone belongs and feels connected.
About the role
This is a genuinely rare opportunity; the Chief Operating Officer role is being introduced into Nulsen's structure and advertised externally for the first time. Created off the back of a planned executive retirement and a broader restructure of operations and corporate services, this appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the organisation.
Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the COO will translate strategy into safe, sustainable, person-centred operational outcomes across Nulsen's services. You'll lead a portfolio spanning service delivery and participant outcomes, operational performance, quality and safeguarding, service continuity, and stakeholder and partnership management.
In your first 12 months, success looks like building trusted relationships across the organisation, improving operational consistency, strengthening workforce capability, and positioning Nulsen to respond confidently to sector opportunities and challenges.
About you
You're an experienced senior operational executive who combines commercial discipline with a genuine, values-led commitment to the people you serve. You'll bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience in a complex, regulated, service delivery organisation
- Demonstrated experience in disability, health, community services, aged care or a comparable human services environment
- A track record of translating strategic priorities into operational plans and sustainable outcomes
- Experience managing operational budgets, workforce resources and service performance in a constrained funding environment
- Experience leading organisational change, service redesign or operational transformation
- A tertiary qualification in business, management, health, human services, disability services, public administration or a related discipline
- Experience with SIL, high-intensity supports or 24-hour accommodation services, familiarity with the SCHADS Award, and a background in not-for-profit or purpose-led organisations will be highly regarded.
What's on offer
- Generous salary package including car allowance and salary packaging, plus superannuation
- Flexible / hybrid working arrangements, if applicable
- The chance to help shape the direction of a 70-year-old, values-driven organisation at a pivotal moment
- Mobile phone and technology package
- Funded professional memberships
- A genuinely purpose-led culture, working alongside a Community Council of people with lived experience of disability
How to apply Applications close 24 August 2026. Please submit a cover letter and resume via Seek.
