The opportunity This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the transition and ongoing management of QBE’s Trade Credit & Surety portfolio following its divestment to Swiss Re. In this 12-month contract, you'll lead a high-profile business transition while shaping the future management of the portfolio. You'll also oversee a portfolio of underwriting agencies, providing governance support and partnering with stakeholders across Claims, GSSC, Finance, Operations and Swiss Re.
Combining project leadership, technical claims expertise and strategic stakeholder engagement, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the business.

Your new role
- Lead the transition of the back-book claims and payments portfolio, ensuring readiness across people, processes and systems
- Manage QBE's obligations under the Back-Book Management Agreement and oversee the ongoing run-off portfolio
- Partner with Swiss Re to manage Trade Credit & Surety claims, governance, reporting and performance outcomes
- Approve claims payments,
oversee litigation matters and ensure compliance with governance requirements
- Act as the subject matter expert for Trade Credit & Surety across Claims and Operations
- Manage relationships with external underwriting agencies, driving performance, governance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse customer, regulatory and operational outcomes to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strong business and customer outcomes
About You
- Experience in claims management, ideally across complex portfolios, transitions or run-off books
- Proven ability to deliver projects, manage change and operate effectively in business transition environments
- Technical expertise in Trade Credit, Surety, Financial Lines or Specialty Claims (desirable)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead, influence and collaborate across teams
- Commercially minded, with a focus on governance, operational delivery and achieving outcomes
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on when needed
