Let's Make Skin Cancer History Together

Back in 2010, we lost our mate Wes Bonny to melanoma. He was only 26. A suspicious spot on his neck that he didn't know was dangerous - until it spread into his bloodstream and eventually his brain. He fought hard, but it wasn't enough.

Two in three Australians will develop some form of skin cancer before they turn 75, and melanoma kills an average of five Aussies every day -12 times more per capita than anywhere else in the world. It's largely down to our love of the outdoors and our thin ozone layer, but early detection saves lives. That's what we do.

Skin Check Champions runs free, educational pop-up skin check clinics - bringing world-class technology and clinical talent directly to the communities most at risk, especially in rural and remote Australia, and connecting people to their local GP, skin clinic or dermatologist.

About the Role:

We're building a contractor pool of AHPRA-registered nurses, doctors and dermoscopists to deliver skin checks at rural, remote and corporate events around the country - and we'd love to have you on board!

What You'll Do:

- Skin cancer screening - conducting full-body or targeted skin checks for members of the public at our pop-up clinics, often at community events, sporting fixtures and workplaces
- Dermoscopy - using dermoscopy equipment to examine suspicious lesions closely and help identify what needs referral
- Patient education on the spot - talking people through what you're seeing, what to watch for, and how to check their own skin between visits

- Referral pathways - flagging concerning findings and advising patients to follow up with their GP, a skin clinic or a dermatologist.

What We're Looking For: We're after friendly, professional and passionate clinicians — someone who treats every patient with dignity, compassion and respect, and helps create a welcoming, educational and supportive experience for people who might be nervous about what you'll find. You're professional, collaborative, and proud to represent a charity doing genuinely life-saving work.

Skilled Requirements:

- Current AHPRA registration
- Relevant professional qualifications
- Dermoscopy qualifications
- Skin cancer accreditation
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Public Liability Insurance

What We Offer:

- The chance to make a genuine, life-saving difference in communities that need it most
- Variety - no two events are the same, from rural towns to sporting fixtures to corporate activations
- A supportive, mission-driven team who care deeply about the cause
- The opportunity to build skills in dermoscopy and community outreach alongside experienced clinicians
- Flexible, event-based work that fits around your existing commitments
