About the role:
We are looking for a agile, motivated Clinical Team Leader for our Birra Li service, based on Awabakal land at Newcastle Community Health Service.
Birra
Li is a safe place for Aboriginal women and women giving birth to Aboriginal children to receive the support they need through their pregnancy all the way through to the first 2000 days of the child’s life. This is a role where no two days are the same – at any given time, you will be managing workforce through rostering and performance management, reviewing policies, undertaking reporting for the different funding streams, guiding women on birthing on country as well as supporting women who have to birth off country. If you’re looking for a role that will bring you variety and allow you to assist mob from all over, then we want to hear from you!
You won’t be working alone.
You will be supported by the Service Manager of Birra Li, as well as the Service Manager of the Maternity & Gynaecology Department at John Hunter Hospital.
Our Clinical Midwifery
Specialist and Aboriginal Health Unit will also be available to provide cultural supervision and support.

Li team itself is a large, multi-disc team made up of nursing & midwifery staff, Aboriginal health workers & practitioners, allied health professionals and administrative support. Requirements:
1. Current Registration as a Registered Midwife with 3 years recent post graduate experience.
2.
Post graduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing, or willingness to work towards.
3. Eligible to drive in NSW with a current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
