27th July, 2026 We're recruiting 6G Coded Welders for a 7-week shutdown project at a major refinery in Brisbane. This is a large scope of work with a well-established industrial services contractor, offering robust rates and accommodation support for candidates travelling from interstate.

Rates

- $67.80/hr (day shift)
- $81.36/hr (night shift) Key Duties:
- Perform 6G coded welding on process pipework in line with relevant Australian Standards and project WPS/WQR requirements
- Weld pipe-to-pipe and pipe-to-fitting joints across various materials and wall thicknesses as required by the shutdown scope
- Carry out welding in support of flange management, pipe spool replacement, and tank/vessel repair work
- Prepare and fit up joints prior to welding, including bevelling, tacking, and alignment
- Conduct visual inspection of welds and rectify defects as required
- Work alongside pipe fitters, boilermakers, and NDT/QA personnel to meet project quality standards
- Complete required welding documentation, including weld maps and traceability records
- Complete permits, isolations,



and job safety documentation prior to and during works Requirements:
- Trade qualification as a Welder/Boilermaker with current 6G certification (or ability to pass a 6G weld test)
- Proven industrial shutdown experience — pipework, oil tanks, flange management essential
- Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments highly regarded
- Willingness to sit a 6G weld test in Brisbane — we can organise this for you
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights tickets (or willingness to obtain)
- Sound understanding of isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Pre-employment medical and criminal background check required
- Own transport/willingness to travel to Brisbane for the duration of the project Project Details:
- 7-week shutdown project, 8-hour shifts
- Accommodation/LAHA ($65/day) and meal allowance provided once on site
- Candidates responsible for their own travel to Brisbane
