We're working with a highly regarded national law firm looking to appoint a senior commercial lawyer to help grow its commercial offering.

While the role is advertised as a Partner position, we'd equally welcome applications from talented Special Counsel or Senior Associates who feel they're ready for the next step.

The firm has established offices in Brisbane and Sydney and has built a market-leading reputation within its specialist sector. Acting for an impressive client base across Australia, the partners are increasingly identifying commercial work that naturally complements their existing services.

Rather than continuing to refer those matters externally, they're looking to invest in an experienced commercial lawyer who can develop this area of the practice over time.

Importantly, this isn't a role where you're expected to arrive with a substantial client following.

Instead, you'll benefit from an established national platform, longstanding client relationships, strong internal referral opportunities and the support of a collaborative partnership committed to growing the practice.

The Role

You'll advise on a broad range of commercial matters including:

- Commercial contracts
- Business sales and acquisitions
- Shareholder and unitholder agreements
- Business structuring
- Joint ventures
- Corporate advisory work
- General commercial transactions





You'll have the autonomy to shape the practice while working closely with existing clients and identifying opportunities to expand the firm's commercial offering.

About You

We're open to speaking with lawyers at a range of seniority levels.

You may already be a Partner looking for a stronger platform.

Or perhaps you're a Special Counsel or an experienced Senior Associate who has reached the point where you're capable of leading client relationships, mentoring junior lawyers and taking on greater responsibility, but the pathway at your current firm isn't as clear as you'd like.

Existing client relationships are certainly welcome, but they aren't the primary driver for this appointment. The firm is looking for the right person to build a long-term practice, not simply the biggest fee base.
