Proton Power is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities across a growing portfolio of energy, power and infrastructure projects throughout Australia.
With a solid pipeline of upcoming work, you will have the opportunity to work across technically challenging projects while helping shape Proton Power's commissioning capability as the business continues to grow.
The Commissioning Manager will take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and execution of commissioning activities across assigned projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Construction, Operations, subcontractors and client representatives, you will ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project, technical and regulatory requirements.
You will provide leadership throughout the transition from construction into operational readiness, ensuring systems are tested, verified, energised and successfully handed over to the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of pre-commissioning, commissioning, energisation and handover activities.
- Develop and manage commissioning strategies, execution plans, procedures and schedules.
- Coordinate commissioning interfaces across Engineering, Construction, Operations and client teams.
- Lead system testing, verification, functional testing and readiness activities.
- Manage commissioning priorities to ensure alignment with construction completion and project milestones.
- Lead, mentor and coordinate Commissioning Engineers, technicians and subcontractors.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with HSE, quality, technical and regulatory requirements.
- Manage commissioning documentation, test records, punch lists, completion systems and handover packages.
- Identify commissioning risks, constraints and interface issues and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Provide clear progress reporting to project leadership and key stakeholders.
- Build strong client relationships and drive successful project completion and operational handover.
About You You will be an experienced commissioning professional with a strong technical background and demonstrated ability to lead commissioning activities.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager, Commissioning Lead or Senior Commissioning Engineer.
- Experience within power, energy, utilities, renewables, substations or major electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies, testing, energisation and handover processes.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary commissioning teams and contractors.
- Strong understanding of commissioning documentation, completion systems and project controls.
- Demonstrated leadership capability within complex project environments.
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and project constraints.
- Relevant Engineering, Electrical or Trade qualifications.
Experience across HV infrastructure, substations, transmission, distribution, renewable energy or BESS projects will be highly regarded. Why Join Proton Power?
