Role Description

This is a full time Speech Pathologist role based in the Greater Melbourne Area.

The Speech

Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties, including speech, language, and dysphagia-related concerns. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based therapy plans, and monitoring progress against defined goals. The role involves collaborating with participants, families, support workers, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

The Speech

Pathologist will also maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to reports and funding applications,



and provide education and training to participants and their support networks as needed.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated proficiency in Speech Pathology, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for a range of communication and swallowing needs.
- Experience working with speech and communication disorders, with the ability to tailor therapy to individual goals and capabilities.
- Knowledge and clinical experience in managing language disorders across different age groups and functional levels.
- Skills and experience in assessing and treating dysphagia, including safe swallowing strategies and mealtime management.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and current membership with, or eligibility for membership with, Speech Pathology Australia.
- Experience or strong interest in disability support and person-centred practice within community settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain), and a valid driver’s licence for travel within the Greater Melbourne Area if required.
- Willingness to engage in paid travel of up to 90 minutes in duration.
- Eligible to engage in ongoing work within Australia.
