We’re looking for a proactive, organised and social media-savvy Community Manager to help us grow one of the world’s most recognised literary media brands.

1000 Libraries is followed by 1.8+ million book lovers worldwide

, reaching over 30 million people every month through inspiring stories about books, libraries, bookstores and literary travel.

This isn’t a traditional customer service role.

You’ll become the heartbeat of our community - building relationships with readers, bookstores, libraries, tourism boards, creators and brand partners around the world.

Part-time initially (20 hours/week), with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role for the right person.

What You’ll Do ? Customer Experience & Ecommerce

You’ll be the first point of contact for our global community.

- Manage customer support for our online store via Gorgias
- Process and manage Shopify orders
- Support Amazon, Etsy and Faire marketplaces
- Handle returns, exchanges and customer enquiries
- Ensure every customer has an exceptional experience

? Partnerships & Founder Support Work directly with the Founder to grow the literary travel media business.

- Book appointments with partners
- Coordinate meetings and follow-ups
- Manage CRM and partnership pipeline
- Assist with relationship management

? Wholesale & Bookstore Outreach Help bring our products into more bookstores around the world.

- Reach out to bookstores and retailers
- Manage wholesale enquiries
- Coordinate bookstore collaborations
- Maintain retailer relationships





? Creator & Influencer Campaigns Help manage campaigns with book creators, influencers and bookstores. Source relevant creators.

- Coordinate gifting campaigns
- Manage campaign deliverables
- Build long-term relationships

? Community Campaigns Create memorable experiences for our audience.

- Organise giveaways
- Coordinate competitions
- Support ambassador initiatives
- Engage with readers across our platforms

? Social Media & Content Help bring our brand to life.

- Manage comments and community engagement
- Respond to messages
- Assist with content planning
- Create behind-the-scenes and short-form content (must be comfortable in front of a camera)
- Help produce Reels, TikToks and other social content
- Keep our community active and engaged

? AI & Operations Use modern tools to help us work smarter.

- Implement AI workflows
- Automate repetitive admin tasks
- Improve internal processes
- Support operational efficiency

? Email Marketing Support our customer communications.

- Schedule email campaigns
- Coordinate launches
- Assist with newsletters and customer journeys

Who You Are We’re looking for someone who is:

- Comfortable juggling multiple projects

Experience with any of the following is a bonus:
- Shopify
- Gorgias
- Klaviyo or Mailchimp
- Canva
- CapCut
- Meta Business Suite
- Notion
- Claude or other AI tools
