Location: Canberra preferred / adaptable - some attendance at Board meetings and key governance events required

Engagement: Part-time appointment, with working arrangements to be agreed

Reports to: Board, through the President / Chair

Remuneration: Up to $10,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and subject to agreement

About us

Boxing Australia Limited (BAL) is the national sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development and high performance of boxing in Australia. BAL is the recognised member of World Boxing for Australia and is accountable to the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) for the delivery of its funded programs and obligations under the ASC Sport Governance Standards.

BAL is a Company Limited by Guarantee and, in that capacity, is required under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) to maintain a Company Secretary. BAL is committed to upholding best-practice governance across all aspects of its operations and to meeting and, where possible, exceeding the requirements of its Tier 3 status under the ASC Sport Governance Standards.

BAL is currently investing in a comprehensive strengthening of its governance structures, policies and accountability frameworks.



The Company Secretary will play a central role in supporting the Board through this period of governance renewal and beyond.

The opportunity

This opportunity suits an experienced governance or company secretarial professional who can provide practical, timely and independent support to the Board while helping BAL strengthen its governance systems, statutory compliance and member accountability.

Individuals would be expected to have relevant tertiary qualifications in law, governance, business, accounting or a related discipline and/or significant experience as a Company Secretary.

Appointment will be subject to BAL’s usual probity and onboarding requirements, including verification of qualifications and experience, referee checks, a current National Police Check and confirmation of any required conflict of interest declarations.
