Join Wattle Range Council's Construction Team Wattle Range Council is seeking four experienced and motivated 3 x Casual Construction Operators to support the delivery of road maintenance, construction and infrastructure works across the region.
These roles offer an excellent opportunity for skilled operators who enjoy a variety of work, take pride in delivering quality outcomes, and are looking to contribute to projects that directly benefit the local community.
As part of Council's Construction Team, you will assist in maintaining and improving Council's extensive local road network while working with a modern fleet of heavy plant and equipment.
About the Role
You will undertake a variety of road construction and maintenance activities across Council's road network, including:
- Operating a range of heavy plant and equipment, including:
o Grader o Excavator o Loader o Backhoe o Roller o Tractor o Truck o Terrain Levelling Machine
- Undertaking civil construction and maintenance activities.
- Assisting with road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
- Performing daily pre-start inspections and basic plant maintenance.
- Working safely and efficiently to meet quality, safety and productivity targets.
- Contributing positively to a team-focused work environment.
Essential
- Demonstrated experience operating heavy plant in a civil construction, road construction or local government workplace.
- Sound understanding of road maintenance and construction practices.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Highly Regarded
While not essential, applicants with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Grader operating experience.
- Multiple plant operating competencies and relevant licences/tickets.
