The Company Our client is a well-established, large-scale operator in the heavy industry sector with a robust presence in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will manage the end-to-end contract and tendering process across the business. You will draft, review and execute contracts, lead negotiations to secure best value, and be the trusted point of contact for interpreting terms and conditions across the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Tender and administer contracts in line with policy and legislation
- Draft and review contracts and tender documentation
- Identify, evaluate and manage contractual risk
- Lead negotiations for best value and risk mitigation
- Interpret contract terms and conditions for stakeholders
- Evaluate tenders and select providers objectively
- Partner with cross-functional teams and department leaders
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes
About You
- Around five years in a similar contracts or procurement role
- Strong grounding in contract law and end-to-end procurement
- High attention to detail
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels
- Experience with contract management and ERP systems
- Industrial, resources or infrastructure sector experience an advantage
If you also bring people leadership or team management experience, there is scope for that to be recognised, as a more senior opportunity also exists within the team.
