Pathfinders
Pathfinders’ Out of Home Care Program provides a secure and nurturing environment for young people who are in need of alternative accommodation due to being unable to live with their parents or foster carers.
We are currently looking for a Full Time Cultural Support Officer based in the Mid North Coast or the New England
Role of the Cultural Support Officer:
The primary purpose of a Cultural Support Officer is assisting and facilitating the development and review of cultural care plans in consultation with the Caseworker and families of the young people we support. Directly working with young people in OOHC programs, mentoring support to young people, caseworkers, carers and staff (as needed).
The Cultural Support Officer will require knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect Aboriginal communities, societies and cultures in NSW and be willing to advocate on behalf of Aboriginal young people and their families in providing cultural support and provide services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children, young people and families.
The Cultural Support Officer will also be required to build strong relationships with Aboriginal agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections.
This position is Level 4 and Pay Point 1 under the Social,
Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award (“the SCHADS Award”)
