About the Contract

We’re seeking an experienced D365 F&O; Functional Consultant for a 6+ month contract engagement based in North Sydney. This hybrid contract role offers 2 days per week in the office and the remainder remote, supporting a flagship finance transformation initiative and the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;).

Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the D365 F&O; solution across core finance processes. You’ll partner with finance and broader business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, scalable configurations and help drive a successful transformation program.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Finance Manager and business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and future-state requirements.
- Lead and participate in workshops to gather and document finance and operational requirements for D365 F&O.;
- Translate business needs into functional designs, user stories, and D365 F&O; configuration specifications across core finance modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, budgeting, etc.).kpmg+2
- Configure, test, and support D365 F&O; as part of a broader finance transformation initiative and system implementation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solution design, integrations, and reporting align with business objectives.




- Document functional requirements, processes, and operating procedures, supporting BAU and project activities.
- Provide functional support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution through implementation, UAT, and post–go-live phases.

Skills and Experience

- Proven experience as a Functional Consultant, with previous end-to-end implementation experience on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;) or similar ERP solutions.
- Solid background in finance process mapping, requirements gathering, and solution design within ERP or business systems.
- Hands-on experience configuring D365 F&O; finance modules and supporting transformation programs.
- Comfortable working directly with finance stakeholders, including a Finance Manager and project team members, to drive change.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, including 2 days per week onsite in North Sydney.
