Role Description The Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) will support MEA’s activities by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to events, membership engagement, and program outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing datasets, performing basic statistical analysis, building simple data models, and generating reports and dashboards to inform decision-making.
The role also involves communicating insights to coordinators and student leaders, contributing to the evaluation of workshops and seminars, and helping improve outreach and engagement strategies. This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities.
- Candidates should possess a basic understanding of Statistics and the ability to interpret quantitative results.
- Candidates should possess beginner-level Data Modeling skills for organizing and structuring data.
- Candidates should possess transparent Communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant skills such as proficiency in spreadsheets or data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, basic Python/R), attention to detail, and problem-solving ability are beneficial.
- Currently pursuing or having completed studies in engineering, data science, statistics, or a related field is preferred, along with interest in mechanical engineering and student initiatives.
