Data Centre Migration Engineer

Cordant is looking for a Migration Engineer to work alongside the Technical Lead on the technical migration of applications and systems from an existing data centre estate to current target environments.

The role covers the full technical lifecycle migrations: current state assessment, target environment validation, pre-migration readiness checks, cutover support, and post-migration stabilisation.

What you'll be doing:

- Running current state assessments across servers, platforms, databases, network flows, load balancers and storage LUNs using a consistent, templated approach
- Working with platform, storage, database and network specialists to validate application details and confirm target environments are fit for purpose
- Reviewing firewall rules against application connectivity requirements
- Conducting technical pre-migration checks and escalating risks or gaps ahead of cutover
- Providing hands-on technical support during cutover windows, troubleshooting issues in real time
- Delivering post-migration support, including technical rollback plans where needed,



and feeding lessons learned back into the migration approach

What you'll bring:

- 7+ years in infrastructure migration or related technical delivery
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise-scale data centre or infrastructure migrations
- Strong Windows and Linux server platform experience
- Solid networking, load balancing and firewall configuration/validation knowledge
- Experience with storage concepts and LUN assessment in a migration context
- Strong troubleshooting skills under time pressure during cutover windows
- Comfortable working across platform, storage, database and network teams to drive readiness

Desirable: exposure to AIX/Solaris, experience in FSI or other regulated environments, and familiarity with application-level database migration considerations. Melbourne-based, hybrid working with flexibility by arrangement. Attendance during cutover windows (occasionally outside standard hours) will be required from time to time.
