We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst to join our team on a 12-month contract . This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to provide dedicated support to a high-profile enterprise client.

Role Purpose The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and optimising data protection controls to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. The role focuses on analysing DLP incidents, improving detection and response processes, and supporting ongoing compliance with security policies and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

- Administer, configure, and optimise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to protect sensitive information and minimise data leakage risks.
- Monitor DLP alerts and investigate potential data security incidents, assessing risk, impact, and appropriate response actions.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, IT, and Compliance teams to contain, remediate, and document DLP incidents and security events.
- Review and enhance DLP policies to improve detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and align with business requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of data protection controls in line with organisational policies,



regulatory obligations, and industry standards.
- Contribute to insider risk management initiatives by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to data protection practices.
- Prepare and present reporting on DLP performance, incident trends, and key security metrics for stakeholders and governance forums.
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit evidence, and records to support compliance and security assurance activities.
- Partner with business units to embed secure data handling practices and ensure DLP controls support operational processes.
- Deliver user guidance and awareness initiatives to promote compliance with data protection and privacy requirements.
- Stay informed of emerging cyber threats, technologies, and regulatory developments, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of current security technologies and participate in projects that strengthen the organisation's overall data protection capability.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Review and analyse DLP alerts and incidents in real time.
- Update or refine policy rules to reduce noise and increase precision.
- Collaborate with IT teams to validate endpoint and network DLP coverage.
- Create incident reports and communicate findings to management.




- Conduct data classification validation and mapping reviews.
- Liaise with compliance and HR for insider risk or data misuse investigations.
- Prepare dashboards summarising DLP activity and improvements.

Preferred Experience

- 5+ years' experience in cyber security, information protection, or data governance, including hands-on experience with DLP technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Cyera, Symantec DLP, Forcepoint, or similar solutions.
- Experience working within ITIL or ISO 27001-aligned environments.
- Understanding of information security principles, data classification, and access control.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Centre, Azure Information Protection, or similar.
- Knowledge of network and endpoint security, SIEM tools, and incident response workflows.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Ability to balance security enforcement with business enablement.
- Excellent written communication for reports and incident summaries.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive data discreetly.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
